MONDAY GAME IS GOING TO CONTINUE –The Monday Firestone game is going to continue despite what you may have heard recently.  Carolyn Sullivan will be directing and managing it.  So come on out and support the game.

Memoriam –Norm May passed away on January 28. He had played a week earlier at the Westside game, where he had been a regular for many years.  He also played at other Akron Club games with several regular partners.  Norm was previously an active member of the Akron Bridge Association. His partners as well as his opponents found that although he was a great competitor, Norm was always courteous and friendly. His Bridge partners and all the players that he associated with over the years will miss Norm.

Memoriam – Former Akron Bridge player Kay Barbaris passed away February 4. She and her husband Dick played, taught, and ran games in Akron for several years prior to their leaving in 1997. Dick Barbaris passed away in 2008. Condolences to their many Bridge friends and to their family.
 

Stratified by Average ! !  – All Friday afternoon games will be stratified by the average of the two players.  This was recently passed by ACBL and is being incorporated into this game.  (NOTE:  District 5 regionals beginning in May will also be stratified this way.)
